The Pitt Receives 13 Nominations, Including Best Drama, Actor, Actress

HBO Max’s hit The Pitt earned 13 nominations on Tuesday, including nods for Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actor for Noah Wyle.

The freshman drama also logged nominations for supporting actress (Katherine LaNasa), guest actor (Shawn Hatosy), directing (John Wells and Amanda Marsalis), writing (Joe Sachs and R. Scott Gemmill), sound editing and casting.

Production is underway on Season 2 of Max’s medical drama The Pitt, which is shot on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, CA with exteriors shot on location in Pittsburgh, PA. Season 2 will premiere in January 2026.

Executive producer R. Scott Gemmill, EP John Wells and EP/star Noah appeared at Deadline’s Contenders TV in April and shared that the next 15 hours of The Pitt will take place over a Fourth of July weekend. Season 2 will pick up 10 months after the final hour of Season 1, which wrapped on April 10.

Created by Gemmill, the series follows Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s (Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room. Each episode is one hour in Robby’s frenetic day.

Cast also includes Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez.

Since its debut, the critically acclaimed series has stayed among the top three of the streamer’s most-watched titles globally, including a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Pitt is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. Gemmill created the drama and executive produces the series alongside Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, JWP’s Erin Jontow and Simran Baidwan.
