The Monza player also revealed the reasons for his doping control. « The alleged offense stems from the presence of Terbutaline in my body due to the accidental, involuntary, and unintentional ingestion of a spoonful of cough syrup from my young son. However, it should be noted that the therapeutic use of Terbutaline is allowed for professional athletes and it does not enhance athletic performance in football. » Papu Gomez also assured that he has contacted his lawyers, considering that « the disciplinary procedure has not been conducted in accordance with the regulations. »
