Report: Update On Kevin Owens’ WWE Status

Kevin Owens has been sidelined from WWE for a number of months now due to a neck injury.

Owens had a brutal start to 2025, competing in back-to-back grueling matches against Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, respectively.

Owens’ advertised match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 had to be canceled due to his neck injury, and he hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since. We now have an update on his status.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if everything goes well, Kevin Owens is expected to undergo neck surgery shortly.

Meltzer believes the surgery will take place in the middle of July. If things go according to plan, the earliest we could see Owens return to action would be for SummerSlam 2026. Which would be a best-case scenario.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more on Owens’ WWE status as it becomes available.
