Investigation Launched by Police and FBI into Online Threats Targeting Cornell University’s Jewish Community

Cornell University police and the FBI are currently investigating a series of threats made against the Jewish community on the New York school’s campus.

These threats were found on a website that is not affiliated with the university and specifically targeted “104 West,” which is where the Center of Jewish Living is located on campus.

One of the threats called for individuals to track down a Jewish person and “slit their throats,” along with the statement, “Rats need to be eliminated from Cornell.”

The Steven K. and Winifred A. Grinspoon Hillel Center, located at Cornell University, acknowledged these threats in a social media post and stated that the Cornell Police Department is actively monitoring the situation at 104 West.

“At this time, we advise all students and staff to avoid entering the building as a precautionary measure,” the post mentioned.

The university’s President, Martha E. Pollack, also released a statement condemning the threats as “horrendous.”

We will not tolerate any form of antisemitism at Cornell.”
