Great-nephew of Nat King Cole fatally stabbed; Arrest made in Georgia
Police stated that a Georgia man has been arrested in connection with the death of Tracy Cole, the great-nephew of the renowned singer and jazz pianist Nat King Cole.
Tracy Cole was fatally stabbed in Atlanta on September 14th. The 31-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Investigators have charged 41-year-old Ricardo Gayle with his murder. Gayle was apprehended during a traffic stop on Saturday.
The authorities revealed that the two men were acquainted, according to WSB-TV.

Tracy Cole was also the grandson of Freddy Cole, another famous jazz musician within the family.

Gayle has been booked into the Fulton County Jail on multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.
Tracy Cole was the grandson of Freddy Cole, one of Nat King Cole’s three brothers. The pioneering jazz star passed away in 1965. Freddy Cole, also a renowned jazz singer and pianist, was inducted into the Georgia Hall of Fame.
As of Sunday, there had been no response from the Office of the Public Defender in Atlanta, and it was unclear whether Gayle had retained a private attorney. Jail records did not indicate an attorney, and attempts to contact a family member for a comment on Gayle’s behalf were unsuccessful.
