YouTube TV seems to be offering a generous gift to subscribers this holiday season, Here’s what we know

If you’re a YouTube TV subscriber, there’s a good chance you’re in for a treat right after the holiday season.

Beginning early next year, Google’s streaming giant recently announced plans for a more affordable premium streaming experience.

According to Cord Cutters News, new budget packages are about to be introduced as the generous, new offer is a sure-fire way to secure both old and new subscribers while becoming a serious competitor against other streaming platforms including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Sling TV and more.

Among the budget packages, YouTube TV plans to launch a dedicated sports-only package that will be “priced aggressively to undercut traditional cable sports tiers.” The sole aim of this streamlined offering is to focus strictly on major leagues and events.

So far, the tier will include:

If you’re wondering how it’ll all work, it sounds simple enough.

Subscribers will be able to choose from smaller, cheaper channel bundles when compared with the rate for other major sports networks such as ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC Sports.

In addition to that, for sports fans, other specialized bundles will include entertainment-only and kids’ packages. This new feature will allow households to choose packages based on their interests without having to pay for unwanted channels.

Also, there’s ESPN Unlimited.

The new addition comes with Disney and YouTube’s new deal, which YouTube TV base-plan subscribers have access to and will go beyond just getting into the app, per WDW News Today.

The content from the app will be available directly on YouTube by the end of 2026, which means subscribers will no longer need to jump back and forth between apps, according to the report citing Awful Announcing and Cinemablend.

Within the app, YouTube TV subscribers have access to live games, highlights and fantasy tools through the streaming service’s platform.

This way, subscribers can participate in “a unified app experience,” which enables users to hop between linear broadcasts and on-demand clips without the hassle of changing apps.

“With cheaper entry points, YouTube TV could onboard millions more viewers helping to make YouTube TV the largest provider of live TV in the United States, funneling traffic back to user-generated content on the main YouTube platform,” Luke Bouma wrote for Cord Cutters News.
