After some sunshine and a few thunderstorms through the end of the week on Friday, we will keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms under the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend on Saturday.
It will be a warm and humid start to the day, and we will see some sunshine to start the day as well, but once we get into the afternoon and evening, we will bring in chances for showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong to possibly severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather. Damaging winds of an excessive 60 miles an hour and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats, although storms could have some hail, and we’re not going to rule out an isolated tornado as we had into Saturday afternoon and evening.
High temperature is heading into the lower 90s by Saturday afternoon, but once you factor in the humidity, heat index values will soar into a load of mid-90s for just about everybody.
Sunshine will stick around into the end of the weekend on Sunday, and we will keep a little cloud cover around as well behind the cold front that moves through Saturday late at night. High temperature, cooling down just a bit, will drop into the middle 80s by the end of the weekend on Sunday.
We keep the dry weather in the forecast for the first part of next week on Monday and Tuesday, but the heat and humidity will stick around both days as well.
High temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90° on Monday will give way to the lower 90s by Tuesday. But once you factor in the humidity, we are expecting heat index value used to go into the 90s looking ahead into early next week.
We’ll keep a chance of rain showers into the forecast, looking into the middle of next week on Wednesday, and then thunderstorms are back into the forecast by the time we get to Thursday. High temperatures remaining into the lower 90s on Wednesday, will give way to the middle 80s by the time we get to Thursday.
Drier weather moves into the forecast by the time we get to the end of next week on Friday, and we will get rid of the humidity and bring some much cooler air into the region. High temperatures only heading into the lower 80s by the time we get to the end of next week.
