Between the heat and the numerous upsets, Day 1 of the Championships at Wimbledon produced a fantastic opening day of Grand Slam tennis.

Tuesday promises more of the same. My Day 2 Wimbledon predictions have three offerings with terrific Wimbledon odds, including the No. 8 seed, Iga Swiatek, taking on unseeded Polina Kudermetova.

Read on for my Day 2 Wimbledon picks for Tuesday, July 1.

Wimbledon Day 2 predictions

I. Swiatek vs. P. Kudermetova Under 16.5 games (-120 at FanDuel)

No. 8 seed Iga Swiatek opens her Wimbledon 2025 against counterpuncher Polina Kudermetova. Swiatek’s Bad Homberg finals run should boost her confidence enough to blast Kudermetova.

Kudermetova’s weak service game (59% first-serve percentage) is vulnerable to Swiatek’s elite return game (4.8 break points converted per match). Her five-match losing streak and Wimbledon debut don’t instill much confidence, and I expect Swiatek to cruise with Tuesday’s fixture ending Under the match total.

Cazaux vs Walton Over 38.5 games (-120 at Caesars)

Tuesday’s first-round clash between qualifier Arthur Cazaux and Adam Walton promises a tight battle, driven by big serving and mediocre service returns. Walton’s 81% service hold rate should extend sets against the favorite and likely force a tiebreaker or two.

Cazaux packs some heat on his serve and backs that up with a powerful baseline game. Despite Cazaux’s prior straight-set win over Walton, the Aussie’s serving ability on grass, fueled by the heat, should give us four sets and a solid play on the Over.

Volynets vs Maria Over 21.5 games (-105 at Caesars)

Tuesday’s Wimbledon first rounder between Katie Volynets and Tatjana Maria promises a slow, grinding affair. Volynets, with an 83% hold rate in past Wimbledon matches, grinds from the baseline, while Maria is a junkballer with a pinpoint serve who deploys slices to extend rallies.

Their 1-1 head-to-head, including a 28-game 2024 clash, suggests a tight contest. Despite Maria’s recent grass court mastery, Volynets is a tough out and could force tiebreaks or maybe even pull off an upset, which puts the Over 21.5 games firmly in play.
