Charlton Athletic are plotting a move for Blackpool midfielder Rob Apter, sources have told Football Insider.
Apter enjoyed an impressive campaign with Blackpool last season, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.
Nathan Jones has identified Apter as a top target as he looks to bolster their attacking options ahead of life back in the Championship, but Blackpool boss Steve Bruce is keen to keep the Scotland Under-21 international at Bloomfield Road.

Charlton target Apter addition
Liverpool-born Apter joined Blackpool in 2019 after originally featuring in Tranmere Rovers’ youth set-up.
He signed a professional contract with the Tangerines a year later in November 2020, then made his senior debut for the club that same month in the EFL Trophy.
Apter went out on a series of loans as he was climbing up the ranks at Bloomfield Road, with his most notable coming in back at old club Tranmere in 2023/24, where he registered 13 goals and six assists in 40 games and was named as League Two’s Young Player of the Season.

The versatile forward returned to be a part of Bruce’s third-tier squad last summer, and he impressed throughout 2024/25, with a particularly standout showing against Stevenage in April as he bagged a 12-minute second-half hat-trick.

His strong performances and potential to improve even further at just 22-years-old have seen newly-promoted Championship side Charlton register their interest in his services, but Blackpool are not set to let him go without a fight this summer.

Charlton among 2nd-tier sides eyeing ex-Galatasaray man
Jones is clearly looking to bolster his squad with quality this summer as the Addicks return to the second-tier after five years away.
Football Insider recently revealed that Charlton have made an approach to sign defender Mathias Ross, with Preston North End and Millwall both also interested.
The Dane is available as a free agent after he cancelled his contract with Galatasaray a year early by mutual consent, following two seasons out on loan at NEC Nijmegen and Sparta Prague.
24-year-old Ross started just six league games for Sparta last season during his loan spell, but as a former Denmark Under-21 international, he is seen as a realistic and quality option for all three Championship sides vying for his signature this summer.
