Iga Swiatek will be hoping to secure a sixth Grand Slam title later today, as she faces Amanda Anisimova for the Wimbledon crown.
It has been a stunning run thus far from the Polish star, who went into the event with few expectations after failing to win the French Open.
Usually a guaranteed title for the four-time champion, it has now been well over a year since she tasted silverware of any kind. And yet today, she has the chance to claim the ultimate prize in tennis.
Amanda Anisimova, who has more than earned her place in the showpiece finale, will not make it easy for her though.
However, Iga Swiatek has been handed something of a warning ahead of their clash, with one area of her game branded ‘incorrect’.
Iga Swiatek warned ahead of her Wimbledon final
The perpetrator of such a claim was Rick Macci, who has earned the bulk of his fame for once coaching Serena and Venus Williams.
A mainstay in their formative years, he produced two of the greatest champions in women’s tennis history. As such, his opinion is valued.
Iga and her serve even though biomechanically incorrect in a few areas has been the wildcard for her. She is getting many free lunches in bunches and hitting that spot a lot and that could be the KEY to winning her first WIMBY. @igaswiatek

However, on this particular topic, he has not held back in his assessment of the 24-year-old, in an effort to preview the upcoming Wimbledon final.
Taking to X, he expressed concern about what Swiatek was doing, which he saw as ‘biomechanically incorrect’.
Although it was the unpredictability that comes with that specific shot which he also thinks has given her an edge throughout this Wimbledon campaign.
It’s ironic that such a claim was made just after Swiatek revealed that areas of her game ‘stopped working’ when first trying to adapt to Wim Fissette’s coaching.
Iga Swiatek prepares to play in her first-ever Wimbledon final
Swiatek will play in her second-ever final at the All-England Club later today, with the first having come at the junior event back in 2018.
There, she swept aside Leonie Kung to establish her credentials, before moving on to properly tackle the professional circuit not long after.
Now, seven years on, she will compete for her sixth Grand Slam title. An astonishing feat for someone still so young.

There are many factors that are leading people to pick Swiatek as the favourite, not least her record when reaching this stage in majors. She, along with Carlos Alcaraz, have won every single one of their five Grand Slam finals. Today, she bids for a sixth.
Anisimova, meanwhile, will be making her debut at such an imposing stage, and could be overawed by the spectacle of it all.
Regardless, tennis fans are guaranteed a treat, as two opposing styles clash on Centre Court.
