Rangers sign defenceman Derrick Pouliot to two-year contract

The 31-year-old was selected with the eighth pick in the 2012 draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Over his career, he has eight goals and 46 assists in 226 NHL games.

Pouliot is also a Stanley Cup champion from his time with the Penguins. In addition to Pittsburgh and New York, he played for Vancouver, Vegas, Seattle, San Jose, St. Louis and Dallas.

He last played in the NHL during the 2023-24 campaign, appearing in five contests for the Stars.

The left-shot defenceman spent last season with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, posting seven goals and 46 assists in 70 games en route to being named to the league’s first all-star team.
