The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics, 100-96, in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Monday.

Miami got out to a 30-21 lead after the opening quarter, but Boston made things competitive with a 31-18 third quarter. The Celtics actually led 91-87 with 1:50 remaining, but the Heat closed the game on a 13-5 run to prevail. There were 11 ties and 11 lead changes in this close-fought battle. Miami shot 50% from the field and 46% from 3-point range while holding Boston to 42% from the field and 28% from long range.

The Celtics (2-1) were led by Baylor Scheierman, collecting 19 points, three rebounds, nine assists and five steals. Charles Bassey amassed 10 points and nine rebounds. Kenny Lofton Jr led the bench with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Miles Norris and Kendall Brown also reached double figures in scoring off the bench.

The Heat (1-2) were led by Pelle Larsson, providing 24 points, two rebounds and six assists. Kel’el Ware compiled 21 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Keshad Johnson tallied 22 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Javonte Cooke led the bench with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists.
