The Hurt Syndicate is heading into AEW All In weekend with a violent purpose. In a tense interview with Emily Mae for WrestlingNews.co, the group’s mouthpiece, MVP, shot down the idea that he is the faction’s leader and promised that “examples will be made” in their championship match this Saturday.
“We’re Business Associates”
When referred to as the leader of the group, MVP immediately corrected the assumption, explaining the dynamic between himself, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. “I’m not the leader. We’re business associates. We’re all vested in our company,” MVP stated. “We all we meet up to strategize, to decide what paths we want to take… the one that suits our business the best. Because for us, it’s not personal, it’s always about business.”
He continued, defining his specific role. “They beat people up, and I talk about it,” he said. He also touted the group’s incredible success, declaring them “overall, individually, the most decorated faction in professional wrestling today.”
A Violent Promise
When asked what makes The Hurt Syndicate the most dangerous faction in wrestling, MVP’s answer was chillingly direct. “Violence, pain, misery is our business. We are the merchants of misery. We are the purveyors of pain,” he said. “There is no one on this planet better at violence than The Hurt Syndicate, as illustrated by these tag team titles.”
He warned that the group is not in a good mood following the events of this past week’s Dynamite and that their opponents at All In will feel their wrath. “Examples will be made tomorrow at All In,” MVP promised. “So if you are watching this and you want to see what an absolute mauling looks like, tune in to All In tomorrow for the Tag Team Championship match and watch what the almighty Bobby Lashley and the standard of excellence Shelton Benjamin do to our challengers.”
The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) are set to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship in a three-way match at the All In: Texas pay-per-view this Saturday. They will face the teams of JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey) and The Patriarchy (Christian Cage and Nick Wayne). Click here for information on how to order the show.
