One of Kyle Busch’s NASCAR rivals has suggested that the Cup Series legend could leave his team this year.
The two-time Cup Series champion is on the longest winless streak of his Cup career, having not headed to victory road for more than 70 races since Gateway in June 2023.

Speaking on the Stacking Pennies podcast this week, Corey LaJoie – running a part-time calendar in the Cup Series and Truck Series this year – warned that the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy could fall into new hands next year if the 40-year-old got sick of losing.
Busch does have a contract for 2026 with RCR, having started his time with the team brilliantly when he claimed three wins in his first 15 races back in 2023, but LaJoie hinted that his future may not be so clear.
LaJoie: Some big dominoes are going to fall
One of the drivers looking for a seat for next year is Daniel Suarez, with his Trackhouse Racing team announcing this month that the Mexican star will not be retained past the end of 2025.
“Some big dominoes are going to fall,” LaJoie said this week. “It just takes Kyle Busch leaving, plugging Suarez in.”
Of course, one big domino yet to fall is what happens when 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports lose their charter status next week.
It’s been revealed that some of the teams’ drivers, including 23XI star Tyler Reddick, have clauses in their contracts which allow them to quit the teams if they become unchartered. Were that to happen, the whole driver market could be thrown into chaos.
