Jennifer Lopez tour kicks off to a whimper; debuts new Ben Affleck revenge song

(NewsNation) — Say what you will about Jennifer Lopez — but you can’t deny the woman wants to perform. Even if it’s for ever smaller crowds in more obscure places.

Lopez kicked off her “Up All Night” tour last weekend in Tafisa Park in Galicia, Spain, last weekend — amid fan uproar over canceled concerts.

The tour, which I exclusively told you about over a month ago, will see Lopez shaking her booty and performing her hits to crowds throughout Spain, Egypt, Poland, Romania, Armenia and, of course, the ultimate music hotspot: Kazakhstan. And unlike the sold-out 60,000-person stadiums she used to perform in, Lopez is expected to perform this time around at hotels and small venues that hold up to 20,000 people.

And while Lopez is performing 19 shows, she’s already pissed off a few fans.

Fans outraged over Jennifer Lopez postponing tour date: report

Lopez was expected to perform at the luxe five-star hotel, Rixos Radamis, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on July 4, but “per her request,” the date has been postponed to July 30.

According to the Daily Mail, fans were outraged.

Voicing their outrage in Arabic on Instagram, wrote (via translation), “From my point of view, it’s the best of unprofessional attitude to your fans. Why advertise your concert in a few months and throw thousands of people away before the flight?”

Another fan said, “She has changed the poster four times already. It’s not that serious anymore. The scam of the century!”

According to the Daily Mail, “Guests who stay at the all-inclusive hotel are able to attend the concert for free; however, rates are expensive at $700-$2,000 per night.” Fans can purchase tickets to watch her show online.

Lopez also changed some dates in Turkey to accommodate her own schedule. She was expected to perform at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort in Antalya, Turkey, on August 5. But, this date was moved up to July 23. She is now performing in Istanbul on August 5.

A source told Daily Mail that Istanbul was part of the additional tour dates that have been recently added along with Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on August 7, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, on August 10.

Jennifer Lopez struggling to fill seats at concerts

However, while Lopez is a hit in Tashkent, Western Europe is struggling.

The Spanish website, Sur in English, reported in June that her concert in Malaga had ‘undergone a sudden change of venue.’ Instead of performing at Malaga’s Estadio de Atletismo, Lopez will be performing at the Marenostrum stage in Fuengirola, which is a smaller venue. Rather than allowing a maximum of 27,500 attendees, per the site, Marenostrum allows 18,500 fans.

To bolster sales, Lopez is also holding cheap “meet and Greets” with fans — something she would never do in the States.

An Albanian news website, Tirana Post, said fans could pay $1650 to meet the star while in Spain it will cost you $2,000 to do so.

J.Lo singing homage to Ben Affleck on stage

Meanwhile, I’m hearing Lopez will sing her latest jingle, “Wreckage of You,” on stage — a homage to her failed marriage to Ben Affleck. In the song she debuted last week to a select group of 30 fans, Lopez warbles: “The love I want, the love I need, it starts in me… now I found my way here, I’m gonna stay there. Thank you for the scars you left on my heart, was showing me that stars shine brighter in the dark. I won’t fall apart because of who we are, but your broken parts.”

The song concludes: “Because of you, I am stronger, wiser…Better than I’ve ever been. I won’t let you no longer, longer, ever say goodbye to me. It was perfect the while that you made me believe, really got only greater for me, and it made me stronger, stronger, bulletproof. Now watch me climb out of the wreckage of you.”

This should be fun!

After the tour, Lopez will prepare for her “residence” in Las Vegas — which is a small collection of states over New Years and in March 2026… as spies told me: “It’s not an actual residence. It’s a trial run. To see if she can still sell in America.”
