The Chase enthusiasts have voiced concern after the Spanish version of the quiz show was axed, as some expressed their fears on Reddit.
The popular programme, hosted by Bradley Walsh since its UK inception in 2009, has maintained a prime spot in the mid-evening schedule for over 15 years, but now fans are proposing potential revamps to key aspects following El Cazador’s cancellation in Spain this April.
El Cazador had been running since February 2020 before it met its end, allegedly due to falling viewing figures.
A Reddit user pondered the future of The Chase, stating: “The show isn’t as fresh as it used to be and could do with them trying out new things to freshen up the formula.”
Contrasting views were quick to emerge, with one advocate for the current format responding: “I disagree. The format is good as is. Spain tried changing the format last year and now the show is being cancelled. Australia also changed some things this year which I believe made the show worse and more complicated than it needs to be.”

Fellow viewers chimed in with suggestions on how to revitalize the beloved quiz show, reports the Express.
One suggestion aimed at increasing the excitement of the final chase was: “The guests having to press their buzzers and wait for their name, when the Chaser does not. That’s like a solid 10-15 seconds bonus.”
A fan responded: “I fully agree – I still want to go on and give it a go. That’s why winning money isn’t the satisfying part, it’s more about winning against some of the best at [memorising] facts.”
Another suggested that they should cease asking host Bradley to consult the rest of the team for advice on whether the contestant should take a high or low offer.

Their comment was: “The ‘ask your team mates’ part is laughably pointless. For one, it has no influence on what the person is going to choose. Secondly, they all say the exact same thing. ‘You could definitely do the higher offer, but stick with the middle and come home.'”.
Nevertheless, fans need not worry as the award-winning quiz show continues to enjoy record ratings.
The latest UK episodes, broadcast from January to March, have averaged 3 million viewers and a 29.7% audience share, ranking as ITV1’s third most-watched game show of 2024 and the top game show not airing in primetime.
In Australia, The Chase has kept its spot as the number one game show on Seven Network every week of 2024, extending a five-year run of dominance.
