Is She Married or Single?

Iga Swiatek had quite the shock on the podium after winning the 2022 San Diego Open and accepting her trophy.

“Iga, Will you marry me,” a man in the audience allegedly shouted out to her in Polish, Sportskeeda reported.

She said she disregarded the proposal as unserious, but hoped she didn’t hurt his feelings too badly.

“I think, just like the people who say it, I have the right not to take it seriously. I hope that this gentleman did not later ‘cry,’ that I did not answer him seriously, that is, ‘yes’ or ‘no,'” she said in an interview with Polish outlet Sport.pl.

That’s as close as anyone has come to figuring out a love interest for Swiatek, and, obviously, that was just a joke.

That’s because she has kept quiet about who she is dating, if anyone, and no one has been able to come up with a name. She is not married. She is single. But beyond that, there’s little known.

Her opponent in the women’s Wimbledon final, Amanda Anisimova, also has kept quiet about her dating life in recent years, at least publicly. She was dating a reality contestant in the past, but there is no evidence that the relationship is ongoing.

According to Tennis Tonic, Swiatek was born in 2001 in Warsaw, Poland.

Her father is Tomasz Swiatek, a “rower who participated in the Seoul Olympics back in 1988,” the site reported.

Her sister Agata also played tennis but had to leave the sport due to injuries, according to Tennis Tonic. 

On the men’s side among the finalists, Novak Djokovic is in a long-term marriage and Taylor Fritz is dating model and influencer Morgan Riddle. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner single are also single without any clear evidence of girlfriends.

Riddle in particular has developed a following with her fashion sense and her Instagram posts, and Djokovic’s marriage to wife Jelena is well-known.
