Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on the signing of Fluminense winger Jhon Arias and have agreed a deal for a fee close to £17m, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Wolves could look to back Vitor Pereira in the summer transfer market after he helped turn things around during the 2024/2025 Premier League season. The Wanderers looked like they could be facing the threat of relegation under Gary O’Neil, but Pereira came in and steadied the ship, steering them to safety comfortably.
Pereira’s side have already completed the signing of forward Fer Lopez in the summer window, joining the club from Spanish outfit Celta Vigo. Jorgen Strand Larsen has also seen his loan move made into a permanent one, but unfortunately, Wolves will be without Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha, who have joined Manchester City and Manchester United, respectively.

Arias, described as ‘amazing’ by Transfer Site, enjoyed an impressive Club World Cup, which could have prompted Wolves to make an official move. The 27-year-old is a versatile option who predominantly plays on the right-hand side of attack. Throughout his career, Arias has also been deployed on the left, through the middle as a number 10, and even in a deeper midfield role.
It looks as though Wolves could be set to make their third summer signing, with a clear focus being on bringing in players to improve their production in the final third.
