The defenceman signed a one-year, $875,000 contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday, the team announced.
Bernard-Docker, 25, was dealt from the Ottawa Senators to the Buffalo Sabres at March’s trade deadline as part of the Dylan Cozens trade.
Now, he’ll pack up for another Atlantic Division team in Detroit.
In 40 games with Ottawa and Buffalo last season, the six-foot-one blue liner was a plus-five while recording two goals and six assists.
He was originally selected by the Senators in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2018 NHL Draft.
