LOS ANGELES — LA Clippers guard Bradley Beal has a fracture in his left hip and will undergo season-ending surgery.

Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of PrioritySports, told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the three-time All-Star will have a “full and complete recovery” after the surgery.

“We met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days, and came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad to have a full and complete recovery,” Bartelstein told Charania on Wednesday.

Beal left Saturday’s game against the Phoenix Suns in the first half because of hip soreness. Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations, described the unusual nature of his injury.

“This is a very, very fluky injury,” Frank said before the Clippers played the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. “The surgeon said it is almost the equivalent of if you were in like a car accident. It is an atypical basketball injury. It is more of an acute trauma-type injury.”

Frank confirmed that Beal is expected to make a full recovery.

“Feel horrible for him that he is dealing with this fractured hip,” Frank said. “Talking to multiple surgeons, they are extremely optimistic that he will make a full recovery. He will be back for next year. The silver lining is as we try to manage the inflammation in his [right] knee, we will get more time to deal with that. I just feel horrible for Brad.”

Beal, 32, underwent a scope on his knee after last season and was managing the knee at the start of this season. Frank said the inflammation in his knee has gone down. Beal averaged career lows with 8.2 points and 1.7 assists over six games this season, his first in Los Angeles. In 14 NBA seasons, he has averaged 21.4 points with 4.3 assists in 807 games (758 starts) for the Washington Wizards (2012-23), Suns (2023-25) and Clippers.

The Clippers signed Beal to a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option for 2026-27. The Clippers were ecstatic that Beal had chosen to sign with them.

Frank said the Clippers are looking forward to having a healthy Beal back.

“We are extremely encouraged about what the outcome will be [for his hip] and look forward to having him here next year healthy,” Frank said.
