Ahead of the game, there were plenty of notable injuries for Kansas City. One of them was offensive lineman Trey Smith.

Smith left the game early against the Colts due to an injury, and it was reported on Monday that he was “likely” to miss the Thanksgiving Day game due to a high- and low-ankle sprain.

On Wednesday, the Chiefs announced three players are out for the Thanksgiving Day game, and one of them is Smith, which was expected.

“Trey Smith, Noah Gray, and Chris Roland-Wallace are out for Thursday’s game against the Cowboys,” the team posted on X.

Tight end Noah Gray is also out due to a concussion, but Smith’s absence is a big one for the Chiefs’ offensive line.

Mike Caliendo filled in for Smith after he left the game against the Colts, and all signs point to Caliendo replacing Smith again while he is out with the injury.

Smith has allowed one sack all year, according to Pro Football Focus. He was a prized signing when the Chiefs inked him to a four-year, $94 million deal, so he has been a huge part of the success of the offensive line in Kansas City.
