These two teams have had some epic battles in Europe in recent years but they often go in Barcelona’s favour.
The 10,000-odd home fans expected at Stamford Bridge tonight will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season, where Barcelona won 8-2 on aggregate to reach the final.
It was a devastating blow for Sonia Bompastor, who was hoping to lead her side to their first European title in her first season.
In the end, it was London rivals Arsenal who managed the feat, seeing off Barcelona in the final to win a second European title.
That surely will have hurt Chelsea and this is a chance to cement their intentions.
Their form has dipped, qualification for the knockout stages is not secure, so a win tonight would be a huge boost.
