Full marathon

The full 26.2 mile course of the Charlotte Marathon kicks off on South Tryon Street and runs through some of the city’s most prominent thoroughfares.

Runners will navigate roads including Tryon Street, Fourth Street, Morehead Street, College Street and South Mint Street as they push toward the finish behind Truist Field.

The race route threads through Uptown and heads deeper into neighborhoods before returning to the core. These major streets will see closures or heavy traffic impact due to the full marathon.

Half marathon

The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at the same time as the full marathon (7:20 a.m.) and uses much of the same early course. While it doesn’t cover the full loop, it traverses key links like Queens Road East and West, Kings Drive and the North Davidson Street area as part of its route.

These main roads will also be impacted by the half marathon’s start and finish traffic.

Neighborhoods Impacted

Spectators and commuters should be aware that road closures and traffic disruptions will span multiple Charlotte neighborhoods.

The events will impact Uptown Charlotte, Myers Park, Dilworth, NoDa, Plaza Midwood and South End. If you live in or are traveling through these areas on Saturday morning, it’s wise to plan alternate routes and allow extra time.

Or if you want to cheer runners, these will be perfect places to set up!
