July is just a day away and Florida baseball alumni across Major League Baseball continue to deliver moments worth tracking.
Pete Alonso is still the power anchor for the New York Mets, and Jac Caglianone keeps learning the ropes in Kansas City despite some bumps at the plate.

Wyatt Langford was placed on the injured list due to an oblique strain, but should be a spark once he’s healthy for Texas. Harrison Bader and Jonathan India work to keep their bats alive through summer slumps.
On the mound, Brady Singer hit a bump against the New York Yankees but remains one of Cincinnati’s key rotation arms as the Reds fight for position in the NL Central.
Here’s how each of these former Florida standouts performed over the past week.
Pete Alonso: First Baseman, New York Mets
Last 7 Games: .296 AVG | .321 OBP | .370 SLG | 0 HR | 1 RBI | 0 BB
2025 Season: .291 AVG | .380 OBP | .921 OPS | 18 HR | 65 RBI

Alonso’s steady approach paid off again last week, as the Mets slugger hit just under .300 over 27 at-bats. While the homers didn’t come, he continued to find ways on base and show off his trademark hard contact.
With 18 home runs on the year and a near-.300 batting average, Alonso remains one of the most reliable bats in the National League. The Mets’ hopes to make a playoff push rest on his big swing–and it wouldn’t be surprising to see his power numbers tick up again soon.
Last 7 Games: .040 AVG | .077 OBP | .040 SLG | 0 HR | 0 RBI | 1 BB

2025 Season: .165 AVG | .211 OBP | .482 OPS | 2 HR | 4 RBI
It was another rough stretch for Caglianone, who managed just one hit in 25 at-bats last week. The rookie struck out seven times and struggled to make solid contact as his average dipped again.
Still, the Royals remain patient with their rookie slugger. The raw pop that made him a Gators legend is real, and Kansas City’s betting that more reps will help him adjust to big-league arms. His next few weeks could show whether that power starts to show up more often.
Wyatt Langford: Outfielder, Texas Rangers
Last 7 Games: .200 AVG | .226 OBP | .267 SLG | 0 HR | 1 RBI | 1 BB

2025 Season: .232 AVG | .308 OBP | .729 OPS | 13 HR | 31 RBI | 11 SB
Langford remains on the Rangers’ injured list, but before the setback, he chipped in six hits over his final week of action. He batted .200 and struck out 10 times, fighting through some inconsistency before the injury.
Texas knows Langford’s bat and legs will be vital in the second half. The former Florida Gator’s mix of pop and speed gives the Rangers extra life in their lineup–and getting him back to full strength is one of the club’s top goals for July.
Last 7 Games: .208 AVG | .208 OBP | .250 SLG | 0 HR | 0 RBI | 0 BB

2025 Season: .249 AVG | .329 OBP | .726 OPS | 7 HR | 27 RBI | 7 SB
Bader has stayed steady with his glove in the outfield but is still looking for his bat to catch fire. Over his last seven games, he hit .208 with five hits but didn’t tally any extra-base hits or RBI. His strikeouts ticked up again as he tries to break out of a cold stretch.
Even so, the Twins rely on Bader’s defense in center field and his speed to flip games when he’s on base. If his contact rate improves, Bader could easily swing games for Minnesota as they hunt for a postseason slot.
Jonathan India: Infielder, Kansas City Royals
Last 7 Games: .286 AVG | .333 OBP | .393 SLG | 0 HR | 1 RBI | 2 BB

2025 Season: .246 AVG | .320 OBP | .661 OPS | 4 HR | 23 RBI
India turned in a solid week at the plate, hitting .286 with eight hits. The veteran infielder also picked up a pair of walks, showing patience during an up-and-down stretch for Kansas City.
India’s experience and approach remain key for the Royals, especially with young bats like Caglianone still learning. If he keeps finding ways on base, India’s steady presence can help balance the lineup the rest of the way.
Brady Singer: Starting Pitcher, Cincinnati Reds
Last Outing (vs. NYY): 5.0 IP | 4 ER | 3 BB | 6 H | 9 SO
2025 Season: 7-6 | 4.31 ERA | 85.2 IP | 76 SO | 1.33 WHIP

Singer ran into some turbulence against the Yankees, surrendering four earned runs and six hits across five innings. He issued three walks but managed to strike out nine, showcasing his swing-and-miss stuff even as New York’s lineup capitalized on his mistakes.
Despite the rocky line, Singer’s strikeout total was his highest in a single game this month–a reminder of how good he can be when he’s pounding the zone. The Reds still count on him as one of their most reliable starters, and if he can limit the free passes, his next outings should trend back in the right direction as Cincinnati pushes through the dog days of summer.
