Aryna Sabalenka Finds Love With Boyfriend Georgios Frangulis Following Tragedy originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been a challenging period for tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, but boyfriend Georgios Frangulis has been a massive support for the star. Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov, a former NHL player, tragically died on March 18, 2024.
The death was ruled a suicide by the Miami-Dade Police Department, per ESPN. While the former couple were no longer together at the time of Koltsov’s passing, Sabalenka publicly shared her sadness following the tragedy.
“The death of Konstantin Koltsov, the Belarusian former pro hockey player and boyfriend of professional tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, has been ruled an apparent suicide, the Miami-Dade Police Department said Tuesday. Koltsov was 42,” ESPN detailed on March 19, 2024.

“Police said in a statement sent to Reuters that Bal Harbour Police and Fire Rescue had responded to a call at 12:39 a.m. Monday at St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort about reports of a man jumping off a balcony.”
Sabalenka and Frangulis went public with their relationship in the spring of 2024. Frangulis is the founder of Oakberry, the popular (and tasty) Brazlian Acai company that has become a global brand.
As Sabalenka surges at Wimbledon and other top tournaments, Frangulis’ Instagram has been full of photos and support for the tennis star. Frangulis was spotted with Sabalenka’s family in the star’s private box during the Wimbledon semifinal match versus Amanda Anisimova.
“@georgiosfrangulis is becoming a content king 😂,” Sabalenka joked on Oct. 28, 2024.
Sabalenka points to her relationship with Frangulis as being immensely important during a challenging time in her life.
“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” Sabalenka told People.com during a Sept. 3, 2024, interview.
“But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.”
