Authorities have issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday for a 13-year-old girl from Surry County.

Valeria Gonzales Hernandez was last seen on June 25 at a bus station at 2210 Capital Blvd. in Raleigh, authorities said. A surveillance camera captured her picture as she got off a bus on that day.

The girl is 4’11”, authorities said. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white sneakers.

Authorities said she has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen carrying two bags, one beige and another was a darker color.

Someone reported Hernandez missing on June 25 from her home in Mount Airy.

A Surry County deputy responded to the home to take a report. Deputies conducted several interviews and searched for the girl in the neighborhood without finding her.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office said the girl’s disappearance initially did not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert. According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation developed new leads that allowed for the issuance of an Amber Alert.

On Wednesday evening, the Raleigh Police Department said the search for Hernandez is an active and ongoing investigation.

Anyone who knows of the girl’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 336-374-3000.
