Aiva Arquette Selected In First Round By Miami In MLB Draft

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State infielder Aiva Arquette has been selected in the first round, seventh overall by the Miami Marlins in the Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday.

Arquette is the first Beaver taken in the 2025 MLB Draft and the third first-round selection in the Mitch Canham era, joining Cooper Hjerpe (22nd overall in 2022) and Travis Bazzana (first overall in 2024). Arquette is the 14th first-round selection in Oregon State history.

The Kailua, Hawai’i native batted .354 in 2025, collecting 19 home runs with 73 runs scored, 17 doubles, 66 home runs and 39 walks. He also stole seven bases. His 19 home runs rank fourth for a season at OSU while his 90 hits tied for sixth.

Arquette was named an All-American by multiple organizations and was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy. He was also a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, which is given to the nation’s top collegiate shortstop.

He is the eighth Beaver selected by Miami all-time, and the first since both Aiden May and Micah McDowell were selected by the Marlins in 2024.
