Frontier Airlines is making some major changes that will impact travelers.
The airline, known for its affordable fares, is adding multiple new routes and is considering adding Wi-Fi.
-
Frontier announced in a November 20 news release that the airline is adding four new routes “across seven airports,” which will be available early in 2026.
-
The routes are expected to increase “the affordable travel options offered in New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Utah and Arizona,” Frontier wrote.

Frontier “has confirmed it’s eyeing in-flight Wi-Fi for its planes,” according to The Points Guy. Frontier has resisted adding Internet access to its flights, but that could change. The talk about Wi-Fi stems from a comment CEO Barry Biffle made on social media, The Points Guy noted, quoting Biffle as writing, “It’s coming.”
On Jan. 21, 2026, “thrice-weekly nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Orlando International Airport will begin,” Frontier revealed in a news release.
“The following day, on Jan. 22, twice-weekly nonstop service between Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and Tucson International Airport (TUS) will launch. On Feb. 13, 2026, Frontier will launch routes connecting Miami International Airport (MIA) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), and Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Pensacola International Airport (PNS),” Frontier added.

“These new routes underscore Frontier’s commitment to offering its Low Fares Done Right to more consumers in more places. To celebrate the continued growth of America’s Low Fare Airline, the company is offering fares starting at $29,” the airline continued.
“These new routes will offer consumers more affordable connections across the United States beginning in early 2026,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design, Frontier Airlines, in the news release.
“With our ultra-low fares and our enhanced customer experience, along with growth in top metro areas across the United States, we look forward to showing travelers why The New Frontier is quickly becoming America’s Low Fare Airline.”
Frontier Has Announced ‘Sweeping Changes’ to Upgrade the Customer Experience
Frontier’s changes are part of what the airline calls a “sweeping” effort to upgrade the passenger experience.
“Frontier Airlines has introduced sweeping changes to its product and customer service offerings, ushering in ‘The New Frontier.’ Among the enhancements is UpFront Plus seating, an upgraded seating option with extra leg and elbow room in the first two rows of the aircraft,” the airline wrote.
“Customers in UpFront Plus enjoy a window or aisle seat with extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat,” Frontier added.
“The airline also now offers unlimited companion travel for its most loyal customers, with the flexibility to choose a different companion on every Frontier flight. Debuting in early 2026, Frontier will begin offering First Class seating, combining unmatched comfort and space at Frontier’s trademark affordable prices.”
Frontier is headquartered in Denver. Frontier “operates one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the U.S.,” according to the airline, which pitches itself as “America’s best value loyalty program” and a “low-fare airline.”
