What would Archie Andrews say? The series finale of Hal & Harper finds the titular siblings — played by writer-director Cooper Raiff and Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart, respectively — reaching a breaking point in their relationship as one of them seeks to make a major lifestyle change. That would Reinhart’s Harper who is planning a move to London, much to her brother Hal’s consternation.
“I don’t know who I am, I don’t know what I want the rest of my life to f–king look like,” Harper says in this exclusive “For Your Consideration” clip from the series finale that Gold Derby is premiering today. “Why didn’t you tell me?” a deeply hurt Hal replies. “For the first time, I really want to be apart,” Harper emphasizes, putting some emotional distance between the tightly-bonded bother and sister to accompany their impending physical distance.

“Seeing the show connect so deeply with its audience has been such an amazing part of this process,” Raiff tells Gold Derby exclusively. “Lili’s performance as Harper is a true gift, and I’m glad people are experiencing it.”
Hal & Harper is Raiff’s first foray into episodic television after his breakout feature films, 2020’s Sh-thouse and 2022’s Cha Cha Real Smooth. Like the latter movie, the series had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and later sold to Mubi, where new episodes have been streaming since Oct. 19. The two-part finale will debut on Nov. 30.
The distributor found its way into the Oscar race last year with Demi Moore‘s body horror movie, The Substance, and is seeking to position Reinhart for an awards run through the Golden Globes, guild awards and on into next year’s Emmys. In March, she scored a Best Actress award at the prestigious European TV festival Series Mania.
