Jared Leto Is Back As Joker In A Newly-Released Image From Zack Snyder

Was Jared Leto a peak Joker all along? Zack Snyder shares another image from the Snyderverse’s vault, this time featuring one of its most controversial actors.

People have a lot of issues with the Snyderverse. Many of them come down to weird or controversial plot decisions made by Zack Snyder. However, the universe also brought one of the most universally reviled pieces of casting in a major blockbuster movie. That being, Jared Leto taking on the role of Joker in Suicide Squad.

In the years following his debut, and well after Zack Snyder had moved on from the DC Universe, Jared Leto’s Joker has become a punchline. Not only is his interpretation of the character mocked for being far too self-serious and edgy, but Leto himself has been memed into oblivion. The actor has been called the grim reaper of franchise films, with a career spanning from the Snyderverse all the way up to the death of the Tron series with Tron: Ares.

Jared Leto’s Look As The Joker

Yet it seems Zack Snyder hasn’t given up on his version of the Joker yet. The director has recently been putting out a number of never-before-seen images from the Snyderverse. One of the most recent ones posted is of Jared Leto’s Joker, seemingly coming from the Knightmare sequences shown off in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut.

For perhaps the first time since the character design was revealed, people are actually responding positively to this image of Jared Leto as Joker. It’s not clear that, if the Snyderverse continued, Zack Snyder would have been able to fully redeem Leto in the eyes of fans. But at the very least, it seems as though his memory hasn’t become more sour over time.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently streaming on Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
