FORECAST
Here’s WAVE News chief meteorologist Kevin Harned with your forecast.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Snow showers fade away by sunset this evening, leaving lows in the 20s and wind chills in the 10s.
We’ll keep the Alert Day in place through early Tuesday morning as some slick spots are possible overnight and into the Tuesday morning commute.
After the morning slick spot risk, we’ll see temperatures warm well past freezing Tuesday afternoon with highs in the 40s. Partly sunny skies and wind gusts up to 35 MPH are likely on Tuesday.
Partly cloudy skies are with us Tuesday night as lows drop into the 30s. Temperatures may start to rise just before sunrise Wednesday morning as warmer air moves in from the southwest.
Wednesday is a mostly sunny and breezy day with highs surging back into the upper 50s and lower 60s during the afternoon. Wind gusts will be up to 30 MPH during the daylight hours.
We’ll see 60s for highs again on Thursday before we soar to near and just above 70° for Friday and Saturday.
Our next storm system arrives on Sunday with thunderstorms possible. A few stronger storms can’t be ruled out, but the overall severe weather chance with this system looks low to very low in our area.
50s will return for the next workweek behind this system.
