‘Succession’ Star Nicholas Braun’s DUI Charges Dropped

DUI charges against Succession alum Nicholas Braun have been dropped.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the cast against Braun, 37, was closed, with charges of “DUI — impairment” and “operating without lights” dropped, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Local ABC affiliate WMUR was first to report the news.

Additionally, the toxicology report reviewed by PEOPLE confirmed that Braun’s blood alcohol concentration was under .08, which is the legal limit in New Hampshire for drivers over 21 years old.

PEOPLE has reached out to a representative for Braun for comment.

The actor was driving a Hyundai Tucson on Lee Road in Moultonborough, N.H., at the time of the arrest at 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 30, according to the new documents.

Braun was pulled over and taken into custody on suspicion of “DUI — impairment” and “operating his vehicle without lights” in the evening, “during the period from 1/2 hour after sunset (7:25 p.m.) to 1/2 hour before sunrise (6:07 a.m.),” according to a press release from the Moultonborough Police Department.

Braun was booked into the Carroll County jail and then released on his own recognizance without being required to post bail ahead of an impending court date, per TMZ.

The actor pleaded not guilty to the charges on Sept. 12, according to a New Hampshire case summary previously obtained by PEOPLE. An arraignment scheduled for Sept. 16 was later canceled, per the document.

Following his August arrest, Braun was ordered to refrain from “any use of alcohol, and use of any narcotic drug or controlled substance” as a condition of his release, according to court documents previously obtained by PEOPLE.

The actor is best known for his performance as “Cousin” Greg Hirsch on the smash hit HBO series Succession, for which he earned three Primetime Emmy nominations, one Critics Choice nomination and two Screen Actors Guild awards. Succession wrapped its fourth season in May 2023, winning a total of 19 Emmys during its run.

The actor notably began his career in Disney movies in the early 2000s, including Sky High, Minutemen and Princess Protection Program, in which he starred opposite Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and others.

Recently, Braun portrayed both Andy Kaufman and Jim Henson in the film Saturday Night, a biopic chronicling the moments leading up to the premiere of the now-iconic sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.
