“This is a nice set,” Melvin said while sitting next to Bush Hager. “You know, I’ve never seen the show.”

To that, Bush Hager declared, “That is so rude!”

Melvin tried to explain his way out of the admission by pointing out, “Well, because we’re just getting off.”

However, Bush Hager said to producers, “Did you just hear him say he’s never watched the show?”

He insisted, “No, because I’m usually in transit, but this is nice.”

She then pointed out, “Here’s the thing about it. It’s a full hour,” prompting Melvin to reply, “I know, I could probably watch some of it.”

Monday was a Melvin-filled day, as he and Savannah Guthrie co-anchored the first two hours of Today, after which he stepped in to co-host the third hour alongside Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer

Melvin praised Bush Hager for her amazing work on Jenna & Friends after Hoda Kotb left the show in January. Since then, the former first daughter has teamed up with a revolving list of co-hosts for the fourth hour of the program.

“What you have managed to do over the last few months on this show, from just a purely broadcasting perspective, as the kids would say, real recognize real,” Melvin told her. “To be able to sit next to someone different every day or two and do this, that’s a feat.”

To that, Bush Hager shared, “I’ve kind of fallen in love with [it], we’ve had 57 first dates.”

Also joining Bush Hager this week as guest co-hosts are Dreyer and Carson Daly.
