  • The Next Gen NYC star says she started getting filler around age 17
  • Ariana also shared that at one point her lips got “so big” that she had to have them “dissolved twice”

Ariana Biermann is following in the footsteps of many celebrities (including her mom, Kim Zolciak) by opening up about plastic surgery.

While speaking with PEOPLE along with the cast of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC on Wednesday, July 9, the 23-year-old revealed that she started getting lip filler at age 17 — but wanted to get it done even earlier.

“I think I was honestly ready to get my lips done at 13,” says Ariana. “But I didn’t. I didn’t end up getting them done, I think, until I was honestly maybe like 17. And then you go crazy.”

The reality star added that at one point she “had my lips so big” that she “had to get them dissolved twice.”

“I’m on my third time bringing them back and trying not to do them too much,” Ariana continues. “I think that it’s definitely hard, also the world we live in with how normal plastic surgery is and filler and all these things.”

While the star says it’s important to “accept yourself and love yourself how you are,” she admits that it’s “a little difficult growing up in the world that we live in now.”

One way she practices self-love is not using filters on social media.

“It makes me feel so ugly,” Ariana says. “When I take it off, I think I look 10 times worse than I did when I didn’t use it.

She then clarifies, “That’s not to say that I don’t use the Paris smoothing filter on Instagram, but I mean the ones that really change your face, those are the ones that I can’t use. It’s not good for my mental health.”

Next Gen NYC, which premiered June 3, follows a group of friends in their 20s who are navigating adulthood in the Big Apple and stars a number of kids of Bravo’s Real Housewives.

Ariana is joined by Teresa Giudice’s daughter Gia Giudice as well as Riley Burruss (daughter of RHOA alum Kandi Burruss) and Brooks Marks (son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Meredith Marks). The cast also includes Ava Dash (daughter of music mogul Damon Dash), model and influencer Emira D’Spain, It girl Georgia McCann and crypto trader Charlie Zakkour. Biermann’s boyfriend Hudson McLeroy and Shai Fruchter are also set to appear on Next Gen NYC

Along with her sister, Brielle Biermann, Ariana was a regular on RHOA and her mother’s spinoff series Don’t Be Tardy until the show was canceled in 2020. Kim will appear on Next Gen NYC alongside her daughter.

In June 2025, Ariana told PEOPLE that being the lead of her own show “can be very draining.”

“It definitely gives me a new perspective,” she said. “You don’t realize when you’re a kid how much goes into it.”
