ATP Gstaad Day 3 Predictions Including Ruud vs Stricker

The ATP Tour moves on to the post-Wimbledon clay court season. Important ranking points are up for grabs before the preparation and lead-up begin to the US Open. As ever, we preview and predict all the scheduled matches at the 2025 ATP Gstaad Open, including Casper Ruud vs Dominic Stricker. But who will advance?

ATP Gstaad Day 3 Predictions

Roman Andres Burruchaga vs Patrick Zahraj

Head-to-Head – First Meeting

Both players are very new on the ATP tour. Roman Andres Burruchaga notched up his first win on the main tour this week. At the same time, Patrick Zahraj has had very good fortune, being a lucky loser in the qualifiers and advancing straight to the Round of 16. Expect Zahraj to be out of depth here and Burruchaga to dominate and reach an unlikely quarterfinal.

Prediction: Burruchaga in 2

Ignacio Buse vs Kamil Majchrzak

Head-to-Head – First Meeting

This should be an interesting matchup. Ignacio Buse looked solid in taking out Laslo Djere, who is always a handful at the 250 level on clay, while Kamil Majchrzak had a fantastic Wimbledon by reaching the round of 16. These two have never faced each other, but it will likely be decided by who serves better. Buse has performed well this week, but Majchrzak is the better server and is likely to win.

Prediction: Majchrzak in 3

Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs David Goffin

Head-to-Head – First Meeting

Neither player has had decent results heading into this week. Juan Manuel Cerundolo played a great match this week and reached the finals at a Challenger event last week. David Goffin, a veteran of the tour, lost in the first round at Wimbledon, and there are questions whether he can last the three sets on clay against the young Cerundolo. Expect a lot of rallies, but the lefty spin should be enough to trouble Goffin.

Prediction: Cerundolo in 3

Casper Ruud vs Dominic Stricker

Head-to-Head – Ruud 0-1 Stricker

Casper Ruud returns to the tour after more than a month, having last played at the French Open. The Norwegian returns to his beloved clay against someone who has beaten him before in Dominic Stricker. Expect Ruud to be a little rusty, but the good thing about clay courts is that they give you time to get into your rhythm. While Stricker has beaten Ruud before, it was on indoor hard courts and clay, expect the result to be reversed after a lengthy match.

Prediction: Ruud in 3
