Mitchell Starc took a five-for inside the first five overs of the West Indies‘ fourth-innings chase, including his 400th Test wicket, to leave the home side in an horrific position in pursuit of 204 runs for victory.
Ahead of play on day three of the third Test, Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey was ruled out due to concussion and replaced by Josh Inglis.
Then, Australia suffered another blow when first drop Cameron Green left a Shamar Joseph delivery and was bowled, before the visitors succumbed for 121, leading by 203.
Then all hell broke loose.
The West Indies lost their first three wickets before scoring a run, and Starc took all three in the first over of the hosts‘ innings. He had 3-0.

The left-arm quick then took his fourth of the innings to move to 400 Test wickets when he trapped Mikyle Louis lbw.
He became the 18th cricketer to take 400 Test wickets and only the fourth Australian to do so. He is the second Australian fast bowler to reach the milestone, after only Glenn McGrath.
Josh Hazlewood dismissed captain Roston Chase to leave the West Indies in a scarcely believable position at 6-11 in Kingston.
In a record-breaking spell, Starc took only 15 balls to get his five-for. Previously, Australia’s Ernie Toshack held the record for fewest balls to a five-wicket Test haul, having got there in 19 balls against India in 1947.
