ATLANTA – Texas A&M shortstop Kaeden Kent was selected by the New York Yankees with the 103rd pick in the third round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft Sunday evening from the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kent started all 56 games for the Aggies during the 2025 season, slashing .279/.398/.544 to go along with a triple, 13 doubles, 13 homers and 49 RBI. The junior also scored 52 runs, drew 37 walks and went 4-for-4 on the basepaths. The Maroon & White shortstop led the team with 19 multi-hit games and also registered 13 multi-RBI performances on the year.
During his three seasons in Aggieland, Kent appeared in 135 games with 101 starts. The Austin, Texas, native recorded a .290 average along with two triples, 18 homers, 23 doubles and 100 RBI. In his career, Kent totaled four grand slams, including one that capped off a historic come-from-behind victory against South Carolina on April 12.
