Toss: Sri Lanka opt to bowl vs Bangladesh

Sri Lanka won the toss and put Bangladesh into bat in the second T20I in Dambulla. Having won the first game in Kandy, a win here will see Sri Lanka secure the series before the final game in Colombo.

Following Thursday’s comfortable win, Sri Lanka opted to stick with that winning combination. Bangladesh, however, rang in the changes. Jaker Ali, who had missed the opening T20I due to a thigh strain, was cleared fit to play and will replace Mohammed Naim, while the pace attack was been freshened up with Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam coming in for Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan.

Speaking at the toss, Litton Das said he believes 185 could be a good score on this surface. Charith Asalanka said there was “no big reason” as to his decision to bowl first, saying that they just prefer chasing.

The weather in Dambulla is expected to be dry all evening, while the pitch itself has traditionally been high-scoring – though during the West Indies series last year, it had been converted to one that was rather more spin-friendly. That said, we’re likely to see a reversion to something more favourable for batting.
