This year’s No. 1 overall pick, Cooper Flagg, and the Dallas Mavericks return to Summer League action on Saturday against No. 2 pick Dylan Harper and the San Antonio Spurs.

The former Duke star is taking on another high-profile Summer League squad for their second game after facing Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. In his debut in Mavs colors, Flagg tallied 10 points, going 5-of-21 from the field, with 6 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals. He went scoreless in the second half.

On his debut, Flagg said, “Not up to my standard, but I’m going to improve, I’m going to be alright.” The Mavs went on to win the game, 87-85. Rookies Ryan Nembhard and Miles Kelly also showed flashes of their potential, with 21 and 17 points, respectively.

Dallas will face a Spurs team coming off a dominant 111-70 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Harper did not play in their opening matchup, dealing with a minor groin injury, Spurs beat reporter Tom Osborn reported on July 1. However, the Spurs managed to rally in their Summer League opener behind David Jones-Garcia’s 24-point performance.

Both teams are looking to secure their second win and hand the other team their first loss.
