There appear to be some changes happening behind the scenes at Kensington Palace. After 15 years, Princess Kate and Prince William’s executive personal assistant, Natasha “Tash” Archer, is stepping down from her role and moving on to new ventures, according to reports from People and Hello! magazine.
Archer is leaving the position to establish her own private consultancy, per The New York Post. Already, she has established her own website, where there is a message that promises more is “coming soon.” At the bottom of the page, there is also an email address for people to send Archer any inquiries they may have.

The King’s College alum was first hired as the couple’s personal assistant in 2010—the same year that they got engaged. Prior to that, she had already established royal connections, because she worked in the office of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester for three years.
In 2022, Archer was promoted to the role of Senior Private Executive Assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales. On her LinkedIn, she listed a few of her duties as: clothing, diary, and projects.

Throughout the years, Archer became a close, personal confidante to Kate, and she is credited with helping to curate the princess’s world-class wardrobe, while also encouraging some of her most notable upcycled looks. In 2017, Archer married Getty Images photographer Chris Jackson, and the pair currently share two children.
Insider sources relayed to People that “the Prince and Princess of Wales’s household has wished Natasha the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead.”

Just last year, Kate and William hired a new assistant private secretary, and the qualifications required were listed as “excellent communication and organizational skills,” a “proven ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of individuals and institutions,” and “a strong understanding of Welsh communities, affairs, government, and business.” It was also noted that a candidate who was fluent in Welsh was highly desired.
Time will tell what qualifications will be required when the couple eventually fills Archer’s role.
