2:29 PM ET
A beautifully constructed race from Nelly Chepchirchir, who takes victory in the women’s 1000m with 2:29.77. Jessica Hull is out in front after a very quick first 400 metres, but the Kenyan turns on the gas in the second full lap to kick past the Australian and claim a confident victory. For a moment, it looks like she might catch the green light and threaten the world record. In the end, she will have to make do with the fourth-fastest time in history.
2:39 PM ET
False start drama before the race, but now the historic lineup is set. Trey Cunningham powers through a headwind to take the win with a time of 13.09.
2:34 PM ET
Renaud Lavillenie sails over 5.82m in the pole vault, marking one of his strongest efforts in quite some time. Kendricks, Marschall, and Karalis have also cleared the height, while Duplantis is patiently waiting before attempting his second jump. Meanwhile, in the high jump, the bar stands at 2.23m with no significant eliminations yet.
2:27 PM ET
The race got off to a fiery start with some jostling and cutting off in the first 200 meters, showing just how hard the athletes were pushing early on. By the 400m mark, a few looked slightly off the pace, but Honei was moving well as they entered the final lap.Wanyony surged to take the lead and held strong down the stretch, crossing first in an impressive 1:41.44.
2:19 PM ET
Marileidy Paulino battles to claim victory in the women’s 400m, fending off a determined charge from Aaliyah Butler of the USA. Butler keeps the pressure on right to the line, but the Olympic champion musters a late surge to take the win in 49.06. Butler finishes close behind with a new lifetime best of 49.09.
2:08 PM ET
Femke Bol with the win! The Dutch powerhouse delivers a powerful and smooth performance, surpassing the meeting record of 52.63 from 2009 with a winning time of 51.95, the fastest women’s 400m hurdles time in the world this year. She executed a controlled strategy, staying relaxed early before accelerating through the final hurdles.
1:59 PM ET
Drama in the shot put as Jessica Schilder claims victory with the very last throw of the contest! The Dutch athlete launches 20.39m in the Final 3, overtaking both Chase Jackson and Sarah Mitton to secure her second Diamond League win of the season.
Gout Gout grabs the win in the U20! What a way to kick off an international career. The young Australian sprint talent looks completely at ease under the lights in Monaco, storming to victory in 20.10 – just 0.08 seconds shy of his personal best. A dominant performance that could well be the first of many on the Diamond League stage.
1:50 PM ET
Mondo Duplantis clears 5.62m on his very first attempt—an unusually early start for the pole vault superstar. Over in the shot put, Jackson moves back into the lead with a throw of 20.06m. And on the track, Gout Gout is about to make his Diamond League debut in the U23 200m.
1:21 PM ET
The reigning Diamond League champion becomes the first to surpass 20 meters tonight, landing a throw of exactly 20.00m in the second round to move into first place.
1:10 PM ET
And we’re underway in Monaco! Chase Jackson opens the women’s shot put with a solid 19.86m to take the early lead. With five women having thrown over 20 meters in Eugene last weekend, there’s a sense this field has plenty more to give tonight. Meanwhile, at the other end of the stadium, the men’s pole vault is off to a clean start. Thibaut Collet and Renaud Lavillenie both clear the opening height of 5.47m.
