Elizabeth Banks is celebrating more than two decades of marriage!
On Sunday, July 6, the Hunger Games alum, 51, marked her 22nd anniversary with her husband, Max Handelman. She shared a video on Instagram, offering a glimpse of the couple’s low-key dinner date to celebrate the special occasion.
In the clip, set to Alex Warren’s hit “Ordinary,” the two can be seen posing for a quick selfie together before heading out for a prime rib meal at a restaurant, where they clinked their glasses together in a cheers. Banks also shared a look at a stunning floral arrangement, presumably an anniversary gift.
“Married 22 years. Happy Anniversary @maxhandelman,” Banks wrote in the post’s caption.
Banks and Handelman, 52, met in college at the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and began dating shortly after. They tied the knot in 2003 and went on to welcome two children — Felix, 14, and Magnus Mitchell, 12 — through surrogacy.
Since then, the pair have also gone into business together, co-founding Brownstone Productions, whose projects include the Pitch Perfect film franchise, the Aidy Bryant-led Hulu series Shrill, 2019’s Charlie’s Angels, Cocaine Bear and Bottoms.
In a 2019 cover story for Net-a-Porter’s Porter Edit, Banks said her marriage to Handelman is “the thing I’m most proud of.”
“I do think people grow together or they grow apart. We definitely grew together. We were constantly making decisions that kept us close,” she added.

Banks also admitted that she’s “a little traditional when it comes to marriage. I think there are people who go into marriage thinking, ‘If it doesn’t work, I’ll get divorced.’ That’s not me. You’re going to have bad moments. You’ve committed to something. Do you value it or don’t you?”

For the couple’s 20th anniversary in 2023, Banks revealed that Handelman had gifted her a brand-new sapphire ring to celebrate two decades of marriage (and three decades together).
In an Instagram Stories post, she showed off her newest piece of jewelry, which features a peacock sapphire stone surrounded by small diamonds atop a diamond band.
“The 20th anniversary ring,” she captioned the image.
The Pitch Perfect alum also shared two Instagram posts featuring black-and-white photos from the couple’s wedding day. The first captured Banks smiling as she held Handelman’s hand.
“20. Years. Married. Made a life together. Made a business. Made a family. Still mad for each other. We’re doing alright @maxhandelman,” Banks wrote in a sweet message at the time.
