Tracy Ifeachor Exits as Heather Collins Ahead of Season 2

Tracy Ifeachor will not return to “The Pitt” for its second season. The news comes three weeks after production on the season began.

In Season 1 of the medical drama, Ifeachor starred as Dr. Heather Collins, a senior resident at the hospital who has a close but sometimes strained relationship with Dr. Michael Robinavitch aka Robby (series lead Noah Wyle). She begins the season pregnant, trying to start a family through IVF and without a partner. She tries to keep her pregnancy a secret from her colleagues, then miscarries. Afterwards, she discusses it with Robby in a scene that reveals that they used to be a couple, and that she got pregnant and had an abortion during that time.

“The Pitt” follows a group of doctors, nurses and other staffers at a hospital in Pittsburgh. Season 1 was set in September, with each episode taking place over the course of one hour in the same shift. Season 2 will be set in July, following the same format.

News of Ifeachor’s exit from “The Pitt” was first reported in TVLine, Variety‘s sister publication.
