NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Thunderstorms rolled through Nashville on Monday, unloading sheets of rain, heavy winds, and lightning during the afternoon and early evening hours.
The severe weather was enough for the Federal Aviation Administration to ground all departing flights at Nashville International Airport on Monday afternoon.

The FAA later allowed flights to resume, but the schedule was delayed roughly 90 minutes, on average.

The initial Ground Stop was lifted around 3:15 p.m., with the ensuing delays lasting until around 8 p.m. on Monday.
More thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday, with the highest chances coming, again, during the afternoon.
