Raise your hand if you haven’t thought about Dallas Keuchel in a while.
Yeah, us too.
But the Houston Astros legendary lefty is attempting an MLB comeback.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that Keuchel has signed a minor-league contract with the Kansas City Royals.
“Keuchel, 37, held a workout last week and was up to 92 mph,” Passan writes. “He’ll start at AAA and if he gets to the big leagues would make $2 million prorated.”
Keuchel and his big beard are known most for his seven years with the Houston Astros.
He won the AL Cy Young in 2015 with a 20-8 record and a 2.48 ERA.
He was also part of the 2017 World Series champions.

In 192 appearances for Houston, Keuchel was 76-63 with a 3.66 ERA.
He then pitched for the White Sox, Braves, Twins, Diamondbacks, Brewers and Rangers.
He appeared in four games for Milwaukee last year.
Keuchel has a career 4.04 ERA.
He’s never been the hardest thrower, so it could come down to his feel for his pitches as he attempts to make a comeback. If Keuchel can find a groove, he certainly could get back to the big leagues.
It’s a low-risk move for the Royals, who are taking a chance to try and somehow catch up to the Tigers in the AL Central.
