Liam Gallagher Praises Fan Who Played Oasis On Stage at Green Day Show

After refusing to perform “Good Riddance” at a show in Luxembourg, Billie Joe Armstrong booted the fan from the stage

Liam Gallagher has weighed in after a fan brought on stage at a Green Day show played Oasis’ “Wonderwall” instead of the punk group’s “Good Riddance.” Someone posted a clip of the incident, which resulted in Billie Joe Armstrong booting the fan from the stage, on X, leading Gallagher to quip, “Best song of the night.”

During the show, which took place in Luxembourg, Armstrong welcome a young man on stage to perform “Good Riddance” on the guitar, something that has become tradition at Green Day concerts. Instead of playing “Good Riddance,” he started performing “Wonderwall.” Thinking that maybe his guest had just started playing it in the wrong key, Armstrong gave the guy some quick instructions, and even remarked with a laugh, “You told me you could play this one!”

The guitarist then launched into an unmistakable rendition of “Wonderwall,” getting through the lead progression once before Armstrong clocked what was going on. “Oh, fuck!” the frontman exclaimed, grabbing his guitar back, before the guest was promptly ushered off the stage.
