One injured after car crashes off Route 89 in Seneca Falls

Emergency crews responded to a one-car crash with injuries Monday evening after a vehicle veered off State Route 89 near Lake Road in Seneca Falls.

The Seneca County Communications Center dispatched the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Town of Seneca Falls Police Department, and North Seneca Ambulance to the scene at around 6:30 p.m.

Police and fire officials arrived within two minutes. Seneca Falls Engine 1 and North Seneca Ambulance followed shortly after. Responders found a single occupant in the vehicle, which had come to rest in a roadside ditch.

While fire police shut down Route 89, fire crews secured the vehicle’s battery and checked for leaking fluids. North Seneca Ambulance personnel treated the injured driver on-site and later transported the patient to a local hospital.

Stevers Garage towed the vehicle from the ditch. All units cleared the scene and returned to service approximately 40 minutes later.
